Our story
A Shop Built on Straight Answers
A+ Auto Repair and Smog is run by Javier and his crew out of Alamo Street in Riverside, where customers keep coming back: some for five vehicles running, some for six years and counting. We built this business on a simple idea: tell people the truth about what's wrong with their car, charge a fair price to fix it, and do the work right the first time.
Whether it's a 20-minute smog check or tracking down a hard-to-diagnose issue on a Corvette or a Cummins diesel, we take the time to find the actual problem instead of guessing. That's saved our customers thousands of dollars in unnecessary parts and repairs, and it's why so many of them send us their friends and family.
We know trusting a mechanic isn't easy. We've earned that trust one honest diagnosis at a time.

What customers say
“I have been to this place several times over the last few years, these guys really know what they're doing. The last time I went there I needed a smog check and a thermostat replacement, they were fast, efficient and most of all very honest, and the prices were great. Today I went there just for a smog check and it took a total of maybe 20 minutes. Thank you A+, you guys are great.”
“I have a really hard time trusting mechanics. They were honest, kind, and got my vehicle in right away for a diagnostic on my '02 Corvette. The issue was resolved immediately. I will continue doing business with them as long as I reside in the Riverside area.”
“Great HONEST mechanic with FAIR prices. Can't emphasize that enough, as it's freaking rare. Expect this place to get busy for this reason. They do take appointments, and that is required for Saturday work. Edit: 6 years later they are the same awesome place with the same honesty, integrity, and effective diagnostic abilities. A+ indeed!”
