Our story
Straight talk. Solid repairs.
A&B Transmission & Automotive Service has built its reputation in San Bernardino one honest diagnosis at a time. Whether it's a full transmission rebuild, a failing clutch, or a routine oil change and inspection, General Manager Jeffery Dodd and the team walk customers through exactly what's wrong and why, before any work begins.
We've earned repeat customers and family referrals by doing what a lot of shops won't: telling you when something doesn't need fixing yet, showing you the failed part, and never pressuring an upsell. From transmission and clutch specialists to everyday maintenance, we treat every car like it's going back on the road for good.
Our customers keep coming back, and keep sending their families, because we do the job right and explain it in plain English along the way.
- Transmission & clutch repair specialists
- Honest diagnostics, no pressure to upsell
- Trusted across generations of San Bernardino families
- Clear explanations before any work begins
What customers say
“A and B did a great job with our oil change, filters and 31 point inspection. But the best part was, I had taken my Lexus to the dealer to fix my headlight, and I was quoted $4,200 to replace both headlights! Without telling A and B, they thoroughly checked both headlights, and replaced the bulb for $89.”
“Jeff took my car in and fixed the problem within a week. They showed me my old clutch and explained why it failed and got me back on the road again.”
“Family has always talked about this place. I've been there before and after new ownership. I've had the same experience. They have stood the test of time. Guys are straight with you.”
