Our story
Straight answers, done-right work
We're Advanced Auto Services, a car repair and maintenance shop at 5635 Mission Street in San Francisco. Bring your car to Jeff and Sherman and you'll get the same thing every customer gets: a clear explanation of what needs to be done, why it needs doing, and an honest price for the work.
That honesty runs deep. Customers regularly walk in expecting a big repair bill and leave with a minor fix instead, because we tell you what your car actually needs, not what pads the invoice. It's why people who found us for a single alignment have stayed with us for years, and why some have trusted us with their cars for nearly two decades.
From new tires and wheel alignments to brake service on everything from daily drivers to Teslas, we do the work carefully, communicate what we found, and get you back on the road — often within just a few hours.
- Honest diagnoses: we'll talk you out of repairs you don't need
- Fair, transparent pricing
- Fast turnaround, often same day

What customers say
“Jeff managed to squeeze me into his busy schedule, which I really appreciated. His pricing was fair and reasonable, and the service was excellent. I had new tires installed, a wheel alignment done, and my brake fluid serviced. Everything was handled professionally from start to finish. Best of all, I got my car back within just a few hours.”
“Jeff and Sherman do great work and they're the most honest mechanics and Jeff is a perfectionist so I know when ever he's working on one of my cars it's gonna be the best work possibly done. And I've been coming here for almost 2 decades and never had one bad experience. Hands down best auto shop in the city!”
“We've been taking our cars to Jeff and Sherman for the last 8 years or so, and the service is consistently exceptional. They will lay out what needs to be done and why, and will communicate findings afterwards. I've gone here thinking I knew what needed to be done and planning on spending big money, only to be gently corrected and on my way with only minor repairs and costs.”
