Our story
A Mechanic Who Actually Explains Things
We started Avis Auto Repair on the idea that a repair shop should treat your time and your questions with respect. Before any work begins, we walk you through what's actually wrong with your car and what it will take to fix it.
From tricky electrical gremlins to routine oil changes, we handle the job ourselves rather than passing it along. If you'd rather supply your own parts, we're happy to install them for you.
We're a small, busy shop in Hayward, and most of our work comes from customers who've sent a friend our way after a job well done.
- Owner-operated by Avin
- Explains every repair in detail
- Will install customer-supplied parts
- Fair, upfront pricing

“I had a major electrical issue with my car that was causing the dashboard lights to flicker. I was initially concerned it might be a costly repair, but the technicians at this shop quickly identified the root cause, an issue with the wiring. They fixed it promptly, and my car has been running smoothly ever since. The quality of their work was outstanding, and they were upfront with the pricing, which was very reasonable for such a complex job.”
“Avis is excellent mechanic, great and fair pricing. I bring my own parts and he puts it on. He did oil change on my car and secondary air pump diagnosis and replacement. Very trust worthy and very busy. I highly recommend his services for your vehicle!”
