Our story
A Husband-and-Wife Shop You Can Actually Trust
California Auto Repair is a husband-and-wife shop on East California Avenue in Bakersfield. We look at every car ourselves, explain what's actually wrong, and quote a fair price before any work starts.
Drivers passing through Kern County count on us too. We've gotten stranded travelers back on the road after breakdowns near Sequoia and repaired cars towed in from as far as Los Angeles, often with a same-day or next-day turnaround.
From ignition and electrical issues to general repair work, we treat every customer like a neighbor, because most of them are.
- Husband-and-wife owned and operated
- Straightforward quotes, no hidden surprises
- Help for stranded and out-of-town drivers
- Same shop, same team, every visit
What customers say
“Had an emergency out in Sequoia and California Auto was the first mechanic we could find. Good thing we did! Work was quick, thorough, and well priced. The husband and wife team running the shop were great to deal with and very accommodating.”
“Joe is awesome. Very fair pricing and honest. He's worked on my car and my girlfriend's car. The best part is, he's right up the street from me.”
“I live in LA and my car broke on the way back from a trip and had it towed here based off reviews, Joe took a look at it and let me know within the hour that he found the problem and quoted me a price that i thought was extremely good, and best of all he had it ready by the next day!”
