Our story
A shop built on straight answers
Jump-Start Auto Mechanic sits on West Compton Boulevard, and it runs the way a neighborhood shop should: Luis meets you at the door, tells you what your car needs, and tells you what it doesn't. No upsell, no mystery invoice, no waiting a week for a simple job.
We handle the everyday work that keeps a car on the road: oil changes, brakes, engine diagnostics, routine maintenance, and we pull your check-engine codes at no charge before we quote anything. Customers who came in for one job keep coming back for every job after it, and that's the only advertising we've ever had.
We're open Monday through Saturday, 8 to 5. Call ahead or pull in; either way, you'll get an honest read on your vehicle.
- Free check-engine code scans
- Owner-operated, ask for Luis
- Open six days a week, 8am–5pm
- Quick-turn oil changes while you wait
What customers say
“I was looking around trying to find an honest mechanic just for brakes. I was hesitant at first but after reading reviews Luis took care of me. I just wanted affordable brakes and his price was lower than I expected, under 200. Not only that he checked my engine light, told me the code and showed the picture. I was impressed — most mechanics and dealerships will charge 160 for diagnostic, he did it for free.”
“I've bought my car thanks to Luis and I've been bringing it here for all of my maintenance, and the experience is always the best. Luis runs this shop with honesty, professionalism, and real dedication. He always takes the time to give me helpful advice, and treats my car like his own.”
“He is straight to the point, honest, caring, and willing to get the job done in a timely manner; as if it was his own. He cares for you, as much as he cares for his employees. Great man, great shop, full trust.”
