Our story
A Family Business Built on Straight Answers
Universal Automotive is run by a father and son team who believe a repair shop should tell you the truth about your car, not sell you a list of extras. Customers come back year after year because the diagnosis matches the fix, and the price matches the work.
We handle everything from a check engine light to a full smog check, and we do it at rates that stay well below the shops around us. Our diagnostic fee and labor rate are both $95 an hour, and smog checks run $25, a fraction of what most shops in town charge.
We are open six days a week, including Saturdays, because car trouble does not wait for a weekday. Bring it in and we will give you a plain answer about what it needs.
- Family owned and operated
- Diagnostic fee matches labor rate
- Smog checks at $25
- Open Saturdays
What customers say
“Fast, GREAT work, friendly, very good prices, honest. I had the same type of work done on the same vehicle in a different shop about two years before. Universal did it in a couple of hours, instead of a couple of days. Charged me about 30% less, and the workmanship was better. I couldn't believe it, but I'm glad I found them!!”
“They are a family owned business. They are super friendly and honest. I've taken a few of my cars there and each time they have done a great job. The pricing is great and they do not try to get more out of you.”
“This shop is a go to, the owner and his son are very honest, knowledgable, and helpful. Its a family ran business so I took my vehicle here for a check engine light. Their prices are very reasonable, paid $95 for a diagnostic and their labor fee per hour is the same $95. That is less than any other repair shop. They are also open on Sat, thats when they took care of my problem and had my truck running by the end of the day. Also they do smog checks for $25, thats the best in town, it is usually near $60 anywhere else.”
